Employing your First Person

· Recruiting the right person – hints and tips for hiring the best people
· Creating the right culture and employee experience – onboarding and employee engagement
· Your legal responsibilities and duty of care to your staff.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll gain the knowledge, confidence and useful takeaway documents to take your initial step into employing your first person.  


Brand Basics for Your Business

An introductory course designed to clarify the often misunderstood concept of a brand. It’s more than just a logo—it’s about creating a compelling story and visual identity that connects your business with your existing and potential customers, to build loyalty and create new sales.   

What You Will Learn: 

  • Understanding Branding: What does ‘brand’ really mean? Explore the key components that form a brand including narrative and visual elements. 
  • Visual Elements: Dive into the basics of logos, icons, colours, and fonts. Learn about the importance of accessibility in design and what colours convey. 
  • Creating a Brand: Get insights on how to develop your own brand. What to look for and what questions to ask when collaborating with professionals (such as designers, marketing agencies or website designers) to bring your vision to life. 
  • Electrify Brand Clinic: Participate in our exclusive clinic session. Share your current branding efforts and receive tailored advice from our expert panel, including a creative director and branding specialists. 

Canva for Business (Intermediate)

11 December, 9.30am – 12.30pm

Location : Online

This is our intermediate Canva workshop. It is designed for businesses that have their own paid Canva account and have some experience with the platform. During this session, we will introduce delegates to the brand toolkit – how to set up logos, colours, fonts and other key assets. Then it’s about creating more content, but with a strong focus on design principles (colour, contrast, position etc) so that we’re not thinking just about creating content but creating really good content.  We will walk through setting up Canva, including how to create your own brand toolkit – logos, colours, icons, folders etc. We will go on to create more content, with a focus on ‘good’ content which follows some key design principles.
